Mr. Balasubramanian Chandrashekar

Mr. Balasubramanian C is a distinguished scholar specialising in geopolitics, international affairs, and China studies. He has extensive experience in government institutions and think tanks, where he has played a key role in establishing research centres and bridging the gaps between industry, academia, and government. He has successfully led projects and initiatives, delivering policy recommendations and in-depth analyses to government stakeholders and national security agencies.

With substantial research expertise, Mr. Balasubramanian has held senior positions overseeing research teams and outreach activities, including publications. As a subject matter expert on China and international affairs, he maintains active liaisons with global stakeholders in government and the think tank community. He has participated in numerous Track II dialogues with scholars, academicians, and think tanks from countries such as Taiwan, China, Bangladesh, Australia, the United States, and Vanuatu.

Mr. Balasubramanian has also contributed to training programs, delivering invited sessions on China and national security topics at institutions under the Government of India and the Armed Forces.

He is proficient in Mandarin (Level II) and has cleared the HSK Level I examination. His publications exceed four dozen, encompassing both print and online formats, including three occasional papers on China-related topics and several book chapters. He has been invited to present at numerous national and international conferences.
